Don Plok

Producer, percussionist, DJ –both digital and analogue- with over 10 years of experience performing on both Argentine and Latin American stages, he fuses many rhythmic styles creating his own sound, with an obvious predilection for afro music, tropical beats and bass music. With over six releases he is now releasing his second LP “Kambara`Angà” (together with a live act) a perfect syncretism between EDM and Contemporary Folk Music, motivated by his struggle to give notoriety to african culture and its influence in Argentina. Through a style similar to downtempo, he proposes a voyage of sonic textures with guests such as Miriam Gomes (African-Argentinean activist) and Nancla (Colombian singer and composer) Beyond his solo career, he is involved in many group projects. He is the founder of the Guateque Soundz collective, famous in Buenos Aires southern suburbs, that has been active since 2010, generating events for up to 1800 people, attracting many mainstream artist as well as underground artist, creating a unique, never before seen scene while maintaining a fresh and colourful tone. He is the creator, percussionist and digital producer in Experimento Mandingue, an audio-visual project of afro electronic music. In 2018, together with Andres Osinsky he started Dununmba Soundsystem, a handmade Hi Fi sound system, inspired both in traditional Jamaican sound systems as well as picò and sonideros, their intention is to bring alternative music to communities and the streets in general using large powerful hog scoop speakers.
