- Doma Tornados - Cumbia Cuantica (Slow Dub version)
A few years back, I had a conversation with my admired and good friend Alex Alarcón, a Barcelonian electronic music producer aka Sustainer, about the hypnotic rhythm of cumbia, the points in common with dub and techno and also the chance of confluence between the South American rhythm (should say Colombian? or African?) with the audio and sound of the Basic Channel crew, who are both ardent admirers.
That confluence looked like we needed and improbable.
So, one day I grab the album "Cuantico" from Sustainer, I took various sound samples and started to play the game bringing playfulness to the concrete.
Everything else was falling natural decantation, beats settings, additional percussion and audio effects eaten by other effects.
Dedicated to Alex and his endless curiosity and those who believe, like Kafka and myself, that from a certain point of there is no return and that THAT is the point to has to be reached.
